This song is a part of my story. I could
write pages about everything that's contained within and between these
lines... but I'll stick to one thing. I believe there is a part in each
of us, at the very core of our being, that holds what we individually
believe as true or false. Operating a level deeper than the part of our
brain that analyzes situations and then makes decisions, this part is
what makes the call when we instantaneously say (whether in word or by
action) “yes” or “no” or “I will do
this” or “I will not do this.” These actions
demonstrate what we TRULY believe, not what we do because we think it's
what we're supposed to do, therefore it's incredibly important what we
hold at that core part of us. I'm amazed at the damage done and the
hard work it's taken to overcome even little lies that I've unwittingly
bought into over the course of my life. I've seen this so many times in
others around me as well. So “if I love any lie, let it break
this heart of mine...”
To believe in something, and not live it, is dishonest. - Mohandas Gandhi
